About the Company

In addition to a strong business idea, a company’s success is built on solid working relationships. The company’s positive image and business success are created by its people. A good leader is able to pull chestnuts out of the fire and does so with the help of motivated and informed staff.

During my twenty-year-plus career, I have worked primarily in large international companies, managing people and related processes. My experience lies in the hospitality, service and food industry sectors. After university, I started my career as a quality manager in a large food production and sales company; from there I moved on to the field of human resources. I believe that thanks to my degree in economics, I can grasp the operation of a company as a whole, including the interrelations of various processes. I think that work with human resources is not a specialism in itself: it must help a company to achieve its business goals and ensure good working relationships.

I received my master’s degree from the Faculty of Economics at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and a Diploma in Economics and Engineering from Tallinn University of Technology.

Valuable professional experience:

·      Swissotel (Luxury Hospitality Business): Human Resources Director for six years.

·      Fazer Estonia / Baltics: Manager / Director of Human Resources for eight years.

·      Tere AS: Quality manager, later responsible for human resources, for a total of seven years.

In international companies, the HR manager is always a member of the top management team, so I have been involved in all strategic and operational decisions. I have seen the two previous economic crises, managed changes in companies, mergers, major redundancies, salary increases and also salary cuts.

Leadership support and training has been one of the core activities throughout my career. I know that there is no problem that cannot be solved. I always start with a question for the leader: ‘What is the thing you want to achieve, where would you like to get?’. Only by asking this question is it possible to find the right way to achieve the goal.

Experience:

·      Implementation and management of a performance management process.

·      Responsibility for a talent management program.

·      Development program for managers and employees.

·      Leadership training and trainings in organizational culture.

·      Carrying out employee satisfaction surveys and drawing up action plans.

·      Conducting service quality trainings.

·      Responsibility for internal communication.

·      Leading employer branding.

·      Ensuring legal compliance of HR administration and documentation.

·      Development of work scheduling processes and ensuring compliance with them.

·      Elaboration and development of a remuneration and motivation package (as part of a salary and benefits program).

·      Development of ethical, equal treatment and responsible business practices and ensuring their compliance with legislation (via a code of conduct and a workplace diversity program).

·      Labor dispute responsibility.

·      Trade union negotiations.

In addition, I am a member of the Estonian Chamber of Mentors and have been involved in mentoring / coaching for the last three years.

I am one of the founders of the astronomy competition ‘Hõbelusikas’ (Silver Spoon) and I was one of the leaders of this competition for seven years.

In my free time I love traveling, the sea and sailing, and my winters never pass without skiing. I also love the world of food and wine.
